International Women's Day

IWD is a global day of celebrating women and their social, economic, cultural and political successes. A special focus on this year’s campaign is to achieve gender balance. Gender balance when it comes to employment, government, media, sports, wealth and much more¹.

The first IWD goes back to the year 1911, supported by over 1 million people from Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland². Nowadays, people all around the globe are celebrating the IWD with various events. It is not restricted to a particular group or organization. Everyone can become active and make a positive difference for women worldwide.

We, the company Zeller, with our expertise and international portfolio do care about women`s health. From 145 employees at Zeller, 56% or 81 women work as scientists, managers and executives. Additionally, we co-finance sport events such as the women`s run in Bern, Switzerland, and support women’s shelters in Switzerland. Here women find protection, advice and temporary accommodation.
