Successful attendance of PHYTOPHARM 2017
The XXIst annual conference PHYTOPHARM continued this year from 2nd-4th July in the historic city of Graz, Austria. Organized by the St. Petersburg Institute of Pharmacy in collaboration with the University of Graz, PHYTOPHARM 2017 attracted a number of experts in the field of medicinal plant research, phytochemical analysis, ethnopharmacology and regulation of herbal medicine products from 36 countries around the world.

The XXIst annual conference PHYTOPHARM continued this year from 2nd-4th July in the historic city of Graz, Austria. Organized by the St. Petersburg Institute of Pharmacy in collaboration with the University of Graz, PHYTOPHARM 2017 attracted a number of experts in the field of medicinal plant research, phytochemical analysis, ethnopharmacology and regulation of herbal medicine products from 36 countries around the world.

At 47 impressive lectures and 80 posters, novel and state-of-the-art scientific findings were shared and new ideas were enthusiastically exchanged.
Zeller also contributed to the scientific exchange with two talks:
Dr. Catherine Zahner (Medical Director) presented recently published preclinical data on the metabolic effects of Cimicifuga racemosa extract Ze450, which was received with great interest and led to a stimulating discussion about potential medical implications.
Dr. Esther Kruttschnitt (Medical Project Manager) shared data on an unpublished clinical study about the effect of the herbal drug combination Ze185 on acute stress setting in healthy men, which was one of the few randomized placebo-controlled clinical studies presented at the conference.
The professional exchanges were accompanied by several social programme points, including a welcome get-together, a reception hosted by the Governor of Styria and the Mayor of Graz in the beautiful White Hall of the Graz Burg and a congress dinner. These events gave great opportunity to mingle, exchange knowledge and establish collaborations.
